Open Year Round

Hours change by Season

Usually
6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Wednesdays - By Chance

On Route #3, just 1/4 mile west of beautiful Lake St. George. We are located mid-way between Augusta and Belfast.

Now celebrating our 9th year, we are the biggest little sport shop in Central Maine. We don't have everything, but we do have what you need for hunting and fishing in this area. And, if it's gettable, we can get anything for you. We are within spittin' distance of Lake St. George (LANDLOCKED SALMON!), Sheepscot Lake (LAKE TROUT!) and numerous smaller ponds and lakes (BASS!)

Our inventory includes a good selection of locally favorite fishing supplies including the current hot lures and tips on local honey holes. We specialize in carrying LIVE BAIT year round. For hunting season, we have a huge selection of ammo and hunting accessories (no firearms).

If you're in the area, stop in and browse. Aside from the usual hooks and ammo, we have an unusual collection of interesting stuff to see; most with a dash of Maine humor. Hank thinks he is the boss, but the place is really run by Shadow (Executive Vice President in Charge of Security) and Mac, V.P. for Public Relations.

Hunt'n' and fish'n' stories bought and sold

Bear Season starts this month, August 25.  Early reports from baiters indicate a banner year coming up.  My brother-in-law and his buddy are going bear hunting for the first time.  They are going to Ross Lake Camps in mid-September.  Last year, my son, brother and I had a fantastic bear hunting trip at the same place.

Bass fishing is hot.  Both Largemouth and Smallmouth are hungry and not very fussy.  Surprisingly, a good number of Salmon are being caught on St. George.

Ever hear of a tame partridge?  I’ve had one come out of the woods to visit me whenever I would do yard work at the vacant house nearby.  It followed me around like a tame chicken.

Upcoming:

Any Deer permit drawing – Friday, September 12
Small Game Season starts October 1
Fire Arms Deer Season (residents) starts November 1
